Ginny Christenton Recognized for Outstanding Management of Resources By Northeastern Loggers’ Association

OLD FORGE, NY — On May 15, 2025, the Northeastern Loggers’ Association presented Ginny Christenton with its Outstanding Management of Resources Award 2024 at the organization’s annual Loggers’ Banquet in Brewer, Maine.

Christenton has been involved in the forest community of New Hampshire for over thirty years. Years ago, she went out west to drive her own skidder off a John Deere assembly line. Today, Christenton and her husband, Tom, are active New Hampshire tree farmers and have been awarded tree farmers of the year in 1999. They have hosted tree farm days and have been active in fundraising activities.

Christenton served on the New Hampshire tree farm committee for at least ten years, some of that as education chair. She has also led educational tours on their property, notably for the New Hampshire forest teachers tour, where teachers learned the connections between sustainable forestry and wildlife habitat. Exit surveys of the tour showed the participating educator reach was 1,220 students.

Christenton is currently serving as a landowner member on the NH Office of Professional Licensure and Certification’s Board of Licensed Land Surveyors. Christenton and Tom also regularly testify in support of pro-forestry, pro-landowner bills in Concord impacting current use, low-grade timber, and property rights.
