OLD FORGE, NY — On May 15, 2025, the Northeastern Loggers’ Association presented Ronnie Taylor with its 2024 Outstanding Forest Products Trucking Operator Award at the organization’s annual Loggers’ Banquet in Brewer, Maine.

When it comes to trucking, the forest products industry faces the recurring challenge of finding experienced and competent log truckers. Ronnie Taylor, owner of Connecticut Valley trucking in New Hampshire, has proven to be the very model of what our industry needs. He originally started his business with his late wife, Mary, in 1973, and has since made a habit of going above and beyond.

At one time, Ronniehad 15 trucks on the road, hauling roundwood and chips. Today he is down to two trucks, driven by his son and his nephew. Ronnie hauls for local loggers to mills within approximately 150 miles from his base.

Ronnie has an excellent driving record. His commitment to safety and his great communication with both loggers and mills make him a truly exceptional logging truck operator. His decades of mechanical knowledge allow him to be proactive in identifying and solving issues before they become a problem or a safety hazard. Ronniealso has a positive attitude despite the many ups and downs of our industry and the many challenges he’s faced during his long career.
